Grade 8 and 9 Bands, under the direction of Carol Kay, participated in Music Fest Quebec on March 16th. The two bands won gold! There performance and their behaviour made us very proud! Congratulations to all students and their teachers!

On February 23rd, the FACE « Ensemble à Vents » (grade 10-11), under the direction of Carol Kay, won a gold standing at the Capitol Region Music Festival. As well, the « Ensemble à Vents »was presented with the trophy for most outstanding group of the festival. They were chosen from amongst 80 bands! Congratulations to all the students and their teacher, Carol Kay, for their excellent work!

Congratulations to Brian Mangrum and Sarah Amahrit who, due to their excellent work, won a place in the National Youth Band!

This band is formed of elite young musicians auditioned from across the country. They will meet in Winnipeg in May for a week of workshops, intensive rehearsals and concerts with renowned musicians and conductors. Sarah’s and Brian’s participation in this elite group honour their school, their school board and their province. We also congratulate their teacher, Carol Kay, for her excellent work with these youths.

To all GB members: please take note that the Governing Board meeting scheduled to take place on April 4th is now cancelled.

The English Montreal Student Advisory Committee will meet in FACE’s library. All students will be treated with pizza. There will first be a presentation by M. Cohen on the importance of school websites as a mean of promotion, followed by a presentation from FACE’s EMSAC members Manda Fisher and Nicté Badillo-Amberg on the topic of cohabitation, as experienced at FACE school.
