Rockhopper


Physical description:
Rockhoppers can be 22 inches tall and can weigh 6 to 10 pounds
. They are small, but very smart. They are one of the smallest crested penguins.

Habitat
Rockhoppers mostly live in grasses on rocky coastlines. 
On the Faulkland Islands there are huge colonies of rockhoppers. Rockhopper
penguins live on most of the islands of the Antarctic region.
  




Appetite  
They eat lantern fish, krill and squid.


Fast Facts:
The Rockhoppers are very aggressive penguins. The Rockhoppers get their name because they hop off rocks. The Latin name for the Rockhopper penguin is Eudyptes Chrysocome.
Rockhoppers can jump 5 feet high. They can jump off rocks that are six feet high, and then land safely on their bellies.
The Southern Rockhopper is almost extinct because of our pollution problem. Eudyptes means <crested penguin> . Their weight is 2-5kg
